Camp America Program

Overview

The Camp America program offers summer camp opportunities in the USA, lasting a minimum of 9 weeks. Participants can earn up to $1650 USD pocket money from their camp. The program fee is £695, which includes flights, food, accommodation, visa sponsorship, and group international accident and sickness cover.

Costs and Funding

Students Awarded Standard Funding:

• Pay any deposits and program fee direct to Camp America
• Responsible for any additional costs
• Receive an initial funding installment of £595 on arrival in the USA
• Receive a final funding installment of £100 at the end of the program

Students Awarded Enhanced Widening Participation Funding:

• Pay any deposits and program fee direct to Camp America
• Responsible for any additional costs
• Receive an initial funding installment of £795 on arrival in the USA
• Receive a final funding installment of £100 at the end of the program

Eligibility

• Students must be enrolled at Swansea University
• Students cannot be in the final year of study
• Students must be 18 years old to participate in all programs
• Students will need to meet any eligibility criteria set by the program provider/partner university summer school (where applicable)
• Postgraduate students can apply for funding but must provide evidence that their academic supervisor approves of their participation
• International students should speak to the Visa Advice team to check the impact of participation on their Student Route visa

4. Attend any pre-departure events held by the program provider
5. Upload bank details to the University intranet system

International Travel Approval

All students must complete the University's International Travel Approval process to participate in summer programs and remain eligible for funding. The first steps include watching the Summer Programme Travel Approval Overview video, completing the online Crisis24 training modules, and completing the Health Declaration Form.
