What to Expect

Program Content

The earlier cancer is detected, the greater the chance that someone will recover. Detecting a disease can make a big difference in someone's life. In this masterclass, you will learn how doctors can find breast cancer using special techniques, such as mammography. This method is not harmful and usually causes little pain.

You will receive short lectures on how tumors arise and how light and sound are used to create images of the body. This knowledge will help you better understand techniques such as CT and ultrasound.

At the end of the masterclass, you will know how medical imaging works and why it is so important for detecting diseases like cancer. This will give you a good understanding of how technology can save lives.

After Completing the Masterclass

• You will be able to explain how tumors arise and what the difference is between benign and malignant tumors.
• You will be able to work with physical concepts such as light and sound.
• You will have learned how photoacoustics works and how to apply it to detect tumors.
