What You'll Study

Students will explore the major business functions and the financial, economic, organisational, and international environments that managers and organisations must operate within. Year 1

In the first year, students will build their core knowledge in the fundamentals of management and international business, international business and culture in different contexts, and business in the digital age. Year 2

In the second year, students will have the chance to undertake an ‘international semester’ which is a six-month study abroad scheme. They will explore topics such as grassroots business, the future workplace, and transformative international business in practice. Students will have a wide range of optional modules to choose from, including accounting, human resource management, and global brand management.

Final Year

In the final year, students will consolidate and add to everything they have learned so far. Core modules include small business issues and planning, global strategic management, and international negotiations. There is also a huge range of optional modules to choose from, so students can tailor the topics that fit best with their future career path.

Assessment

Depending on the nature of the material, some modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework and examination, whilst other modules are assessed by 100% coursework or 100% examination. Coursework is based on a variety of tasks including individual essays, projects, contribution in tutorials, group work, class tests, problem sheets, and computer-based exercises.

Placement Year

The placement year is an additional award to the final qualification students will receive once they have successfully completed this course. At Loughborough Business School, students can undertake a professional placement for a year, at the end of which they will gain a Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS).

Study Abroad
