Education

Teaching on the course takes place in the form of campus-based lectures and seminars. Participation in course introduction and seminars is mandatory unless there are special reasons.

The course is examined through active participation in seminars and through a final written assignment which is also examined orally.

Requirements

Basic eligibility + English 6, Social studies 1b or 1a1+1a. Or: English level 2, Social studies level 1b or level 1a2

Selection

In the first instance, places are given to applicants who have registered on time and who are registered on a course at Lund University the semester before this course is given. Second, the places are distributed as follows: Grades 34%, University examination 34% and number of previous university credits at the last day of registration (up to 165) 32%. In case of equal merit, selection is made at the university entrance examination. If it is also equal, selection is made by lottery.

If you are a citizen of a country within the EU/EEA and Switzerland, you do not pay any registration or study fees.

For Non-EU Citizens

Total price for the program/course: SEK 6,250 First payment: SEK 6,250 Citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay tuition fees. The fee is paid in one round in advance before each semester.

Application Fee for Non-EU Citizens

In addition to the program or course fee, you need to pay an application fee of SEK 900 when you apply via UniversityAdmissions.se. The fee is paid once, regardless of how many programs or courses you apply to during the coming semester. The fee must be paid for your application to be complete.

Campus and Facilities

At Campus Paradis, the social science courses take place. The campus area is located in the middle of Lund, a stone's throw from the University House and the cathedral, which makes it easier for you who commute.

The Department of Political Science is located in a building called Eden in the middle of the Paradis quarter. There are lecture halls and plenty of space to sit on your own and study on several floors.

In the leafy Campus Paradis you will find the Social Sciences Library (Sambib) and the University Library (UB), where you can borrow course literature and find study breaks. In the campus area, you will also find Samvetet, where the student union for social scientists sits.

The cultural-historical buildings in the area were formerly hospitals and have therefore been named Old Surgeon and Old Children's Hospital. There are two cafés: Karnas Café at the University of Social Sciences and Café Eden.
