Program Overview
German with Film Studies BA
The German with Film Studies BA program at University College London (UCL) offers students the opportunity to gain excellent linguistic competence in German while deepening their knowledge of Germanic literature, history, and film. This four-year program strengthens students' understanding of regional cultures and arts through modules in film and develops transferable critical analysis skills.
Program Overview
The program is studied on a 75/25 ratio between German and Film Studies. Over the four years, students will deepen their knowledge of the German language while also developing valuable skills in cultural literacy, film theory, and critical thinking. The third year is spent abroad in a country where German is spoken, studying at a university or doing a work placement.
Entry Requirements
- A levels: Grades ABB, with a foreign language preferred.
- IB Diploma: 34 points, with a total of 16 in three higher level subjects, and no higher level score below 5. Foreign language preferred.
- GCSEs: English Language at grade B or 6 and Mathematics at grade C or 4.
- Contextual offer: Grades BBC, with a foreign language preferred, and 30 points in the IB Diploma.
- Equivalent qualifications: Pass in Access to HE Diploma with a minimum of 30 credits at Distinction, 12 credits at Merit, and 3 credits at Pass in the Level 3 units. Modern Foreign Language preferred.

Assessment
