Unite Foundation Scholarship
The Unite Foundation scholarship provides care leaver/experienced and estranged students with free purpose-built Unite Students accommodation for up to three years of study.
Key Information
- Value: Free accommodation in a property owned by the Unite Group plc (Unite Students), for up to three years of the programme subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued eligibility.
- Available to: Prospective and current students.
- Selection criteria: You should be able to demonstrate that you are a care leaver, care experienced (Scotland) or estranged from both your parents.
- Eligible fee status: UK Home.
- Eligible programmes: All full-time undergraduate programmes. You must be studying (or about to start) on your first undergraduate degree.
- Deadline: 23:59 on 19th June 2026.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates must meet all of the below criteria:
- Hold UK home fee status with right to access UK Student Finance loans.
- Be aged 25 or under on 1st September 2026.
- Be a care leaver, care experienced student (Scotland) or are estranged from both parents as confirmed by Student Finance.
- Hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree for the 2026/27 intake or currently be studying a full-time undergraduate degree at UCL.
- Be in receipt of, or applying for, student finance or NHS funding for day to day living costs, reflecting care leaver/care experienced/estranged student status.
- Be studying (or about to start) on your first undergraduate degree.
Selection
Scholarships are awarded in accordance with the scheme's priorities.
Accommodation Details
The accommodation offered will normally be at St Pancras Way, 11 St Pancras Way, NW1 0PT. The nearest underground stations are King's Cross, Camden Town, Mornington Crescent, Euston, and St Pancras International. Scholars will be offered a single en suite bedroom in a shared flat with a communal fitted kitchen; the flat will be shared with a mixture of other students. The accommodation will be available all year round, including through holiday periods, for as long as the student is eligible for the scholarship.

Applicants to the Unite Foundation Scholarship may also be eligible for other awards, such as:

- UCL Estranged Student Bursary
- UCL Undergraduate Bursary
- Undergraduate Funding Awards Students may receive more than one award.
